With Ernie and the kids, I had a great trip to SLC and its purpose was the General Conference. I remember exactly 2 months after my baptism Pres. Hinckley was in Recife, my city, to dedicate the land to build the Temple. It was more than 13 years ago. What a great opportunity to a new member, to hear from the anointed of the Lord. I barely could understand what a prophet was. But with the spirit we had in Recife during that great meeting I couldn`t denny that everything I heard and saw was true. I understood and felt that this Church was good. I understood how important the family is. Now, years later, I was at the Conference Center. I could see The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles sharing the same room. Unbeliveable! How great! How beautiful! How spiritual! The tabernacle choir is so perfect it doesn`t seem real! How can they sing as angels in such a harmony of voices?????????? When the First Presidency entered the room I knew they were like the same that were chosen in the past: Peter, James and John! I know this Church is true. I know how many blessings I have received from my Heavenly Father.
I saw the anti-mormons who were cryin' out-loud against church principles out in front of the Conference Center and some streets of Salt lake. Close by I saw and heard lines of LDS single adults, singing as a choir to give the people more opportunities of choices. I understood that the voices of the good and evil are found everywhere. We can choose to give ears to the words of the Lord and His anointed.
In Salt Lake, Grandma and Grandpa Pratt stopped by the hotel to say; "Hi." They were there for a funeral and some meetings. It was so much fun in the few minutes we had to share with them before their trip back to WA. On Friday night, we had dinner with Ron Morris (Ernie`s 1st companion in Taiwan) and his sweet fiance Kathryn. We went to a Chinese restaurant. It was fun to hear Ernie and Ron talking in and ordering the food in Chinese. I think they don`t lose any opportunity to show their knowledge about this hard language. The food was great! But I don`t know wich animals I ate, because each time I asked what the food was, Ernie said it was chicken... On Saturday we had lunch with my hot nephews and niece; Logan & Lisa and Levi. It was so much FUN!
The whole trip was fun. Dylan asked me if he could take my place by his dad`s side in the car because he could be talking to Ernie and keep him awake while driving. It was a lie! He fell asleep sooner than me. So, guess who was by the driver`s side in the trip back? ME! We stopped twice in Provo. Once to see Kika and her cutelicious baby girl Olivia. Then we went to see Shirley and met Isaac, her newborn. I`m sorry girlfriends I coudn`t stay longer. Talking about the trip back, it was funny. Sierra had specific reasons to spray her new cologne, making the air breathble. I won`t talk about the reasons.
Kohler was so excited and loud after the stop in Las Vegas. Ernie thought was time to give him a Tylenol PM. Kohler said; "I don`t wanna sleep dad!" I`m so greatefull for the husband I have. And I don`t mean the Tylenol PM, by the way. Ernie is such a great man. I know that this trip was a gift to me because he knew I hadn`t had this opportunity to witness General Conference this way before.
